Kamehameha Highway crossing between Pit A1 to Pit A2 for Sewerline "A" completed on the second week November, 2009. Although the subsurface report indicated possible obstructions and underground utilities, none were discovered during the potholing process.
Jet Grouting
The contractor continuest to jet grout for Sewerline "A" from Pit A2 to Pit A3.
Grouting of Pit A1 is 100% complete.
Contractor's plan to mobilize another jet grout plant on Kanuku Street is currently on hold.
Jacking/Receiving Shaft for Microtunneling Work at SMH A2 (Pit A2)
Placement of crushed rock, geotextile fabric, and construction of concrete slab for microtunneling machine completed.
Installation of drain sump with trash pump completed.
Construction of thrust block completed.
Microtunneling support equipment (control room, soil separator, hydraulic power pack) have been mobilized and ready for use.
Installation of pipe jacking equipment completed.
Microtunneling from Pit A2 to A3 completed.
Realigning pipe jacking unit and relocating thrust block to microtunnel to Pit A1 are currently being done by the contractor.
Receiving Pit at SMH A1 (Pit A1)
Inclinometer installed prior to pit excavation work.
Contractor installed I-Beams to support and strengthen sheet piles.
Excavation to required depth is scheduled for December 1, 2009 and is scheduled for completion by December 4, 2009.
Through Pit A3 (SMH A3)
Excavation work and installation of shoring box with end plate completed.
8-inch pipe sleeve used to sight incoming tunnel bore completed.
Contractor began constructing exit seal on November 23, 2009, and completed the work work on November 24, 2009.
