What type of access will be provided during construction (at the Harbor Center)?
Response - Three lanes will be open going "in" and "out" of Harbor Center (2 out, 1 in). Construction equipment will be located on the side, and Police officers will be there to direct traffic.
Will there be work on Kaahumanu Street?
Response - No.
How long will the receiving pit next to Cutter Ford be open?
Response - 6 months. Work will be performed 6 days a week.
Will there any odors from the sewer?
Response - No.
Will there be any impact to electrical system?
Response - Lines may have to be temporarily relocated. However, the contractor does not foresee the project impacting the electrical system in the area. In the event that an electrical outage is required, businesses and affected home owners shall be notified in advance.
What is the set-up time on Kamehameha Highway?
Response - State Department of Transportation limits work from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. However, the contractor is in the process obtaining an amendment to the noise variance request which would allow the jet-grouting work on Kamehameha Highway to be done at night.
Where will equipment be located on Hekaha Street?
Response - Construction equipment will be on the side of Hekaha Street in front of Cutter Ford.
Is the pit on Cutter Ford a launching pit or a receiving pit?
Response - Receiving pit. Most of the auxiliary equipment will be located near the launching pit.
The fax number and hotline number on the handout are the same. Which number is correct?
Response - The fax number and hotline number are one and the same. The number, however, has been changed to 488-9955.
How will the dewatered effluent be handled?
Response - The receiving and launching pits will be jet grouted so there will be very little dewatering. Any Extraneous amounts of dewatered effluent will be discharge into the sewer. The contractor has an Industrial Waste Discharge Permit from the City which allows this.
Driving at night on Hekaha Street is very difficult due to poor lighting and can be hazardous if equipment or workers are near the travel path. What steps will the contractor take to minimize this hazard?
Response - The contractor shall be providing additional lighting.
